BUILDING MATERIAL

CAPABILITIES

Within the building material industry Establish serves manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers, who are all recent clients. The variety of goods that is handled among Establish’s clients include OSB boards, plywood, faucets, bricks, fasteners, hardware, tools, DYI stores and other. The problems and requirements are different depending on the business within the building material but the logistics and the supply chain management are always key competitive factors.

For the distributor of fasteners our supply chain analytics identified that the assortment was so customer unique that the supply chain network design had to be designed for local depots and suppliers instead of using a centralized warehouse strategy.

For the bricks and tiles distributor the logistics costs are such a major part of the total cost of goods sold that warehouse efficiency was the first priority. Since the company was expanding rapidly, the solution from Establish included conceptual solutions and operational processes. These were developed to be possible to apply to the other facilities that exists and are to be opened.

The manufacturer who wanted to bypass the wholesalers in its industry and sell directly to the DIY-stores used the profitability analytics to simulate the risks for profitability losses depending on the alternative concepts.
