Supply Chain Associate Consultant/Analyst

Typical Job Responsibilities Include:
Working directly with clients and internal project teams to understand and solve the client’s business needs by:
Analyzing, synthesizing and taking actionable insights from various types of raw data sources (sales, freight, inventory, warehouse transaction logs, etc.).
Auditing third-party-logistics (3PL) warehousing and transportation related data and invoices and identifying cost savings opportunities.
Mapping current-state supply chain or warehouse processes, creating improved processes, implementing the changes and quantifying savings.
Assisting in creating the operating design of plants and distribution centers. Operating designs include the physical layout, workflows/SOPs, volumes, headcount, material handling equipment requirements, IT systems, costs and plan to implement the design.
Conducting Supply Chain Best Practice audits of our client’s supply chains.
Assisting in the development of distribution network models that evaluate cost, service and flexibility by determining the optimal warehouse location(s), quantity of warehouses, inventory levels and transportation strategies.
Researching and staying up-to-date on the latest trends and innovations in the supply chain and material handling world and working with third party vendors/providers.
The Candidate We’re Looking for:
Is a graduate of a top university with a degree in engineering or another technical discipline and has internship or co-op experience in supply chain related roles.
Proficient in the MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.).
Has experience with analytical toolsets like Excel, Access, SQL, or R and data visualization tools like Tableau or PowerBI.
Has impressive communication skills and is comfortable presenting to high-ranking members of the client team about logical, unbiased, highly-analytical findings and recommendations.
Has a positive, can-do attitude, the ability to work independently and without direction and is eager to learn new things and be exposed to different industries.
Is comfortable with 25-50% travel, depending on the project requirements, and wants to live and work in the New York City or Chicago area.
Feels at home both in distribution centers and in corporate office buildings.
In addition, we would prefer candidates with the following:
An interest in the supply chain/logistics and the consulting industry.
Exposure/familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
Previous experience with AutoCAD or other design suites.
